Setting: Clinics & Hospitals
Role: You will be shadowing local professionals at either a clinic or hospital and may also be able to take part in medical outreach campaigns in local villages. You will help provide and take healthcare to the people who need it the most. Volunteers will have the opportunity to improve access to healthcare for low-income communities in Arusha.
Time Commitment: Min. 1 Week
When: Ongoing; Starts on the 1st and 15th of every month

Requirements: You must be a certified doctor with complete certification. Once you have registered for the program, you must give the following information to the regional staff no later than three weeks before your program begins: a copy of your degree or certification as it stands now, 2 recommendation letters from a supervisor in the medical industry, CV/resume specific to your medical education and training. All volunteers must also be fluent English speakers, have sufficient volunteer travel insurance, and submit to an IVHQ criminal background check before to departure.
Cost: From CA $481 per week, (and a Registration Fee of approx. CA $454); Volunteers are also responsible for: Visa, flights, travel insurance (mandatory), vaccinations, criminal background check, lunch and dinner, public transport to and from your placement each day and return to the airport when your program finishes.
